You will need
to setup a ODBC or JDBC connection on each computer desktop that requires
access to tax return information. First from
Taxsoftware.com Database Settings Screen
enter the
ODBC Database Connection
Name. Be sure to use the same
name as you use in the procedures below. Enter the
username.
If you leave the
password
blank the user will be prompt to login to the database each time the
user starts up using the Taxsoftware.com web site. If you enter a
password,
you will not have to login each and will be automatically logged into
the database. This last option is less secure since the password is
stored on your desktop locally.

To setup the database you need to be a system administrator
and go to the "Administrative Tools" directory:

Select "Data Sources (ODBC)". Then Select "System
DSN":

Press the "Add" button to add a new ODBC connection.
Procedure A for Oracle Database:
1. Select Oracle and press "Finish"

2. Enter a "Data Source Name", "TNS Service Name"
and "User ID" as per below. If you need help with this you can contact
your local database administrator:

3. Press Test Connection. Then Press OK if the
test is passed.
Procedure B for SQL Server:
1. Select "SQL Server" and press "Finish"

2. Enter the ODBC "Name", "Description" and "Server"
as per below:

need to contact your local database administrator.





Procedure C For Access:
1. Select "Microsoft Access Driver":

2. Enter the "Data Source Name" and "Description"
as per below. Press the "Create" button to create the database file:

3. Select a location to store the database file.
And enter the "Database Name" as per below:
